This conference aims to create an engagement and discussion space for PhD students and early career researchers engaged in research related to sustainability transitions and transformations. It will focus on four thematic areas that reflect some of the most current discussions in the field of Transitions Studies and related fields.  In the course of the conference, delegates will be able to present their work-in-progress and exchange knowledge on topical, methodological, theoretical and practical issues related to their academic work, doctoral and postdoctoral research projects.

Throughout the first day of the conference, participants will have the opportunity to present their findings to a group of peers in each of the four thematic streams, chaired by one or more experienced discussants. Working in small groups, participants will be given sufficient time for discussions and networking. They will receive feedback on theoretical, methodological and practical questions and issues related to their research work, in a friendly and constructive atmosphere. The second day of the conference will be dedicated to a series of keynotes, panel discussions and workshops led by established researchers from the University of Greenwich and other institutions. This day will focus on current research related to the four thematic streams and providing practical advice to PhD students and early career researchers.

The conference will take place at the Greenwich Campus of the University of Greenwich in London, on the 14th and 15th of January 2016. For more information on the event, please visit or send an e-mail to the organising team at
